Sanwa Group Privacy Policy
Sanwa Tajima Corporation and its domestic Group companies (“Sanwa Group”) view the proper handling of personal information belonging to its customers and business partners as an important responsibility. We make every effort to properly handle and safeguard the personal information obtained concerning our customers and business partners in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

  • 1. Definition of Personal Information and Personal Data

    1. Personal information refers to information concerning living individuals falling into any of the following categories:

      1. (i)Information such as names, dates of birth, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, IDs, passwords or visual images that can be used to identify a specific individual (including information that can be easily cross-referenced against other information to allow the identification of a specific individual)

      2. (ii)Information containing an individual identification code (as defined in Article 2, Paragraph [2] of the Act on the Protection of the Personal Information [“Personal Information Protection Act”])

    2. Personal data refers to personal information compiled in a personal information database (as defined in Article 2, Paragraph [4] of the Personal Information Protection Act)

  • 2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

    The Sanwa Group uses the personal information obtained by the Sanwa Group within the scope necessary to achieve the following purposes. The Sanwa Group uses this information for no other purposes without the consent of the customer or business partner, except as required by law.
    Purposes of use may be revised, to the extent that can reasonably be recognized as relevant to the purposes of use set forth previous to such revision. In such cases, we will make every effort to notify or announce the new purposes of use to our customers and business partners.

    1. Personal information concerning customers

      1. (i)To provide products and services related to various shutters, doors, partitions, front products, and stainless steel products manufactured or sold by the Sanwa Group

      2. (ii)To conduct surveys related to Sanwa Group products; to provide information or after-sales services; to perform maintenance; to respond to opinions and requests; and to make improvements

    2. Personal information concerning business partners

      1. (i)To contact and to make business or transaction-related inquiries; to execute and perform contracts

      2. (ii)To manage business partners and transaction-related information

  • 3. Shared Use of Personal Data

    To achieve the purposes of use described in 2.(1) and 2.(2) above, the Sanwa Group may jointly use personal data concerning customers and business partners within the scope indicated below:

    1. Categories of jointly utilized personal data
      Customer and business partner names, affiliation information (company name, department name, etc.), job titles, addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses

    2. Scope of joint use partners
      Sanwa Tajima Corporation and its domestic Group companies

    3. Purpose of use for the joint use partners
      Same as 2.(1) or 2.(2) above

    4. The name or appellation of the party responsible for managing jointly used personal data
      Sanwa Holdings Corporation

    In addition to the above, note that Kensetsu-Site Series provided by the MC Data Plus, Inc. or other GREEN-sites that support construction management and other operations at construction sites share the use of personal data of customers. See Shared Use of Personal Information in the Kensetsu-Site Series (in Japanese only) or refer to the websites of companies that develop and operate such GREEN-sites for the items of personal data subject to shared use, the scope of the shared users group and purposes of use, and the individual responsible for managing such shared use.

  • 4. Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties

    Except in the following cases, the Sanwa Group does not disclose personal data concerning our customers or business partners to third parties:

    1. When customers or business partners have consented to disclosure

    2. When entrusting the handling of personal data concerning our customers or business partners to subcontractors (including their subcontractors) in Japan whom the Sanwa Group has determined to be reliable to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use described in 2.(1) or 2.(2) above

    3. When providing such information to the parties listed in the scope of joint use in 3. above

    4. When disclosure is necessary to protect human life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain consent from the customer or business partner

    5. When disclosure is required to enhance public hygiene or to promote childrearing in cases in which it would prove difficult to obtain consent from the customer or business partner

    6. When a government organization or entity or a party entrusted by a government organization or entity is in the process of undertaking affairs specified by laws and regulations in cases in which obtaining consent from the customer or business partner may interfere with the undertaking of said affairs

    7. In addition to the cases listed in (4) to (6) above, when required by laws or regulations

  • 5. Management of Personal Data

    1. The Sanwa Group takes all appropriate and reasonable security measures to prevent inappropriate access to customer and business partner personal data and the loss, destruction, tampering, or leakage of personal data.

    2. In addition to providing related training, education, and awareness-promoting activities for all officers and employees, the Sanwa Group strives to manage personal data concerning its customers and business partners appropriately by formulating Detailed Regulations for Handling Personal Information and appointing an individual in charge at each company to handle personal information.

    3. The Sanwa Group concludes outsourcing contracts with subcontractors that incorporate confidentiality clauses and supervises subcontractors to ensure that they handle and protect personal information appropriately and take all necessary measures to prevent leaks or use outside the scope of the purposes of use described in 2.(1) and 2.(2) above.

  • 6. Disclosure, Correction, Deletion of Personal Data

    Should the Sanwa Group receive a demand for the disclosure, correction, or deletion, etc. of information from a customer or business partner, after confirming that the request meets the requirements under the Personal Information Protection Act and that the request is made by the customer or business partner in question or by a legal proxy, we will respond within the scope deemed reasonable. Please contact the inquiry desk (contact information provided in 10. below). Note that certain services may be rendered unavailable once personal data is deleted. In addition, a service fee may be charged for the disclosure or other actions taken with regard to personal data.

  • 7. Disclaimers

    1. Customers and business partners are responsible for managing their user IDs and passwords when using our website (“this Site”). The Sanwa Group rejects all liability for any loss or damage resulting from the unauthorized use of an ID or password registered by a customer or business partner.

    2. The Sanwa Group may suspend the use of an ID and password if we discover that a customer or business partner registered their ID or password using false information or information for a third party.

    3. The Sanwa Group rejects all liability for ensuring the security of personal information on other websites linked to this Site.

  • 8. Compliance with Related Laws and Regulations and Amendments to Our Privacy Policy

    The Sanwa Group complies with the Personal Information Protection Act, laws and regulations and other norms concerning the protection of personal information, and continuously reviews and strives to improve the policy. We will announce any revisions of this policy on this Site. Please refer to the latest version of the policy posted on this Site.

  • 9. Use of Cookies

    Cookies are a standard technology used by web servers to identify a customer’s or business partner’s computer.
    The Sanwa Group use cookies to enhance convenience for the users of this Site and to manage this Site. Our use of cookies does not violate the privacy of our customers or business partners or have any deleterious consequences for their information devices. The Sanwa Group collects information on how customers or business partners use our services; however, this information is not used or disclosed in any way that can identify specific individuals.
    Cookies are data recorded on permanent storages in the computers of customers or business partners. Typically, they can be disabled via browser settings. Customers or business partners who block all cookies may lose access to some services provided on this Site.
